Photo of Crufts Scottie Champ: Stuane Loch guard

The Scottish Terrier who won best of breed at Crufts 2008 may be called Stuane Loch Guard but he hails from Sweden. is Stuane Loch Guard. (Thanks to the reader who alerted us that it was the judge not the dog who was Swedish)

The Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier who won the terrier group — Ch Caraway Celebrate Life — took a lot of flack for his hairdo, but it doesn’t look too over-the-top in this photo. Maybe he was facing a little anti-Americanism of the type seen at Crufts last year.

And for you Westie lovers out there, here’s the photo of the Crufts West Highland Terrier winner, Touch of Class du Noulin de Macgregor:

  1. Thank you Joanna for the info. He looks like a Photoshop trick to my Yankee eyes. I’ll have to get used to that… he’s a lovely dog but I wonder who would get to the rat first, him or the American-type dog? (smile) — Bonnie

  2. He is a leggy Westie but Westies are more leggy than Scotties. He’s also kind of manly looking unlike some of the westies we’ve featured lately.

Re Cairns, I’ll try and dig up a good Cairn story, maybe for Saint Paddy’s day…
