Who will be the new first dog?

“Sasha and Malia, I love you both more than you can imagine. And you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us,” Obama said at the start of his victory speech.

Obama had promised that whether or not he won the White House, his daughters Sasha and Malia could get a dog.

Michelle Obama has said the family plans on getting a rescue dog.

Reuters also reports that vice-president elect Joe Biden will be getting a big dog.

Since there’s little chance either will go for a Scottish Terrier, given their strong ties to outgoing President George Bush, we’d like to recommend a Westie, a Dachshund or a Dachshund Chihuahua cross (Chiweenie) for the first family. As for Biden we suggest a labdoodle.

  1. Yes a shelter pup would be a great choice, crossing fingers on that one. A Doxie would be a trip and bring a lot of humor to the House. A Boston would be fun too and very photogenic.

At any rate all of us in Texas will welcome Barney home with open arms. He is one Republican I have always liked.

    YAY Obama!

  2. I just knew you’d be blogging about this First Dog stuff…lol I did a blog entry on Friday and yesterday. My vote, since I agree it probably won’t be a Scottish Terrier, would be a Cockapoo……at least my Brie thinks so!
