RIP Angus, One Tough Scottie

Ken McLeod wrote last week:

I’m sad to report to our friends in the Scottie community that our Scottish
Terrier Angus McLeod, featured in Great Scots Magazine (Sept. 2009) as “One Tough Scottie” passed away today (March 17) at 1230.

With the help of superb veterinary care and Doctors, Angus had conquered dermatitis, diabetes, diabetic induced cataracts and most recently a severe corneal lesion. However, a rapid onset of liver cancer brought the end to this tough guy.

Angus had been with our family since March 18th, 2000 – at the age of six weeks. Our other Scotties, Matie, Mr. MacBean, MacDougall, Ginger and Duncan will miss him – as will we.

Read more about Angus here. He was clearly a much-loved and well cared for dog. Our sympathies to Ken and his family.

  1. May you take comfort in knowing your beloved Angus had a good life. I lost my best buddy, Jack, my 12 1/2 yr old 54 lb. European Scottie, in October due to liver failure. I feel your heartache and wish you well in this extremely difficult time.

  2. Thank you Lisa…

We are saddened yet again to say that MacDougall passed away on Thursday April 29, 2010 at 3:45pm from liver cancer – the same disease which took Angus – and is like the Plague on our Scottie Terrier populations.

  3. Our wonderful Scotty was Angus too. Angus passed away two weeks ago. Angus was afraid of everything when we got him but through constant reassurance from both my husband and I he turned into a brave little soldier. Angus had friends far and wide. We loved him!
