Oster A5 Turbo 2-Speed Pro Animal Clipper: Is it worth it?

And BTW, what’s the difference between the A5 Turbo and the Oster Golden A5?

In this dog product review, Scottish Terrier News asks whether or not the Oster A5 Turbo 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper
is worth the price.

And for all you clipper shoppers who are curious about the main difference between the A5 Turbo and the Oster 78005-140 Golden A5 2-Speed Clippers, it is the speed.

For the Golden, low speed is 1700-1800 strokes per minute. High speed is over 2400 strokes per minute. For the A5 Turbo, low speed is 2800-2900 strokes per minute high speed is over 4000 strokes per minute. That’s why the the Turbo tends to be used by dog grooming pros while the Oster Golden is used more by DIYers, like Lallee, who grooms her own Scottish Terriers.

      1. I love my Andis because it runs cooler, came with six conb attachments, oil, and a carrying case. It has a CeramicEdge blade which is so durable and easy on the coat. I have extra blades to switch off for different areas of the body also.

  1. Sorry, I meant comb attachments! I looked on my box and it runs 3200 strokes per minute. It’s also sparkly purple. Girls gotta have Sparkle!!

  2. I agree on the Andis. Extremely comfotable in your hand and stays cool. The Ultra Andis is the fastest clipper they make (in blue or silver case).
