Ali MacGraw loves her Scottish Terrier, Jemima

Here’s the official answer to Tuesday’s famous Scottish Terrier contest. And if you want to sing along, here are the opening lyrics to Love Story.

Where do I begin
To tell the story of how great a love can be
The sweet love story that is older than the sea
The simple truth about the love she brings to me
Where do I start

Don’t blame the Scottie News if the song gets stuck in your head today — or, worse yet, all weekend.

And if this is all bringing back fond memories from 1970, you can order  the movie at Amazon.

  1. … all dark and dark skined blacks on the left and rusty browns an pinks on the right, (there is much to be said about the dog looking like owner!)

    1. You know, Tegan, I thought about adding something about Ali looking like Jemima, but then I didn’t because Ali looks great for 70-something and, cute as Jemima is, I didn’t want to compare them, given that Ali’s an ex-super model and all, and might not take kindly to that sort of thing. (Ali, if you’re reading, you’re Queen Cougar.)

In any case, I completely forgot to pay any attention to the strawberry blondes, but now that you mention it, WOW!

  2. I thought she had Scotties for years. Another smart gal. You just have to love them. They rule your heart and soul.

  3. Harry says: Now she just needs to get three, like us. Our new little brother, Bernie, that mommy and daddy rescued before Christmas is really fitting in. Bernie and I play for at least 30 minutes before everyone else is up in the morning. It’s great!

  4. **giggles******

Yes, they DO say that dogs can look like their owners. I had an Irish Setter years ago – and we both had red hair then – and we are both TALL.

Allie does look wonderful for her age – who would even know just by looking at her! Jemima IS quite the wooly wee one, too.

xxo and arrooooos from Duhgall and Fiona,

    Becky
